Halloween dates

How the date works

• Halloween is fixed on October 31, so only the weekday changes. It moves forward one weekday each year, and two after a leap year.
• It is the eve of All Hallows (All Saints Day, November 1), followed by All Souls Day on November 2.
• Clocks: in the UK and Europe the clocks go back on the last Sunday of October (October 25, 2026), so there is an extra hour of evening darkness around Halloween. In the US and Canada they go back on November 1, 2026, the day after Halloween.

Planning around Halloween

• Falls on a weekend in 2026: trick-or-treating and parties on Saturday evening need no school-night planning.
• Baking treats? Cups to grams, butter sticks to grams and ingredient substitutions help with recipes from another country.
• Party games without a screen: truth or dare, would you rather and random teams.
