About the visual memory test

This test measures short-term spatial memory: how many positions you can hold in mind for a few seconds. Level 1 flashes 3 squares on a 3 x 3 grid. Every level adds a square, and the grid grows from 3 x 3 up to 7 x 7. A wrong click costs a life and replays the level with a new pattern. Your best level is saved in this browser only.

FAQ

What is the visual memory test?

A grid of squares flashes a pattern for about a second, then goes blank. You click the squares that were lit. Each level adds one more square, and the grid grows as you advance.

What is a good visual memory score?

Reaching level 6 to 8 is typical for adults. Level 10 or higher is a strong result.

How do lives work?

Every wrong click costs one of your three lives and the level restarts with a new pattern. The run ends when all three lives are gone.
