How it works

Level 1 shows a single digit. Each time you answer correctly the number gets one digit longer, and the time you get to study it grows a little too. Type the number in the box and press Enter. If you get it wrong, the run ends and you see the correct number next to your answer. Your score is the longest number you got right.

FAQ

How many digits can the average person remember?

Most adults can hold about seven digits in short-term memory, give or take two. Reaching 9 or more digits without any memory trick is already above average.

How can I remember longer numbers?

Chunk the digits into groups of two or three, like a phone number, and say each group aloud in your head. Linking groups to dates, ages or other numbers you already know also helps.

Is the number really random?

Yes. Each level generates a fresh random number in your browser, and it never starts with zero. Nothing is stored on a server.
