A standard 750 ml bottle holds about 25.4 fluid ounces, which is 5 glasses at a 5-ounce pour or about 4 glasses at a 6-ounce pour.
If everyone drinks wine, with 2 glasses in the first hour and 1 per hour after, a 3-hour party for 50 guests needs 200 five-ounce glasses, which is 40 bottles of 750 ml.
A common planning figure is half a bottle (about 2 to 3 glasses) per wine-drinking adult for a dinner of 2 to 3 hours.
