Type or paste a whole number or decimal (up to 66 digits before the point) and the converter spells it out in American English: 1234.56 becomes one thousand two hundred thirty-four point five six. Choose the check style to get the wording used on cheques and legal documents, such as One thousand two hundred thirty-four and 56/100. Commas and spaces in the number are ignored, and a minus sign gives negative.
In American English the "and" is normally left out of whole numbers (one hundred twenty-three) and kept for the cents on a check. British English often writes one hundred and twenty-three.
