How to convert 2.1 to a fraction

  1. 2.1 has one decimal place, so write it over 10 (a 1 followed by 1 zero) with the decimal point removed: 2.1 = 21/10.
  2. Find the greatest common divisor of 21 and 10: it is 1.
  3. Divide both by 1: 21 ÷ 1 = 21 and 10 ÷ 1 = 10.
