How to convert 1.1 to a fraction

  1. 1.1 has one decimal place, so write it over 10 (a 1 followed by 1 zero) with the decimal point removed: 1.1 = 11/10.
  2. Find the greatest common divisor of 11 and 10: it is 1.
  3. Divide both by 1: 11 ÷ 1 = 11 and 10 ÷ 1 = 10.
  4. The answer is 11/10 (already in lowest terms).

Since 11 is larger than 10, you can also write it as the mixed number 1 1/10: 11 ÷ 10 = 1 remainder 1.

Check

Divide the numerator by the denominator: 11 ÷ 10 = 1.1. As a percent, 1.1 = 110%.
